Product Description
Adelina blouse grey with black embroidery

The Adelina blouse grey with black embroidery was made 100% by hand on a rayon canvas. These blouses have a nice drape and therefore can be worn relaxed on the outside with jeans or wide pants or tucked in with skirts, pants like palazzos. The neckline of these blouses are wide so it can also be worn with a bare shoulder as a small variation. They are very versatile for day and night and formal or casual events.

The figures of this garment are drawn on the fabric and then embroidered, either in one or a color combination, then cut and sewn. The iconography of these garments represents the flora and fauna, mostly birds, of the ancestors of the area.

Each piece is unique and unrepeatable so it has its own peculiarities of its manual manufacture. These small imperfections should not be seen as flaws but as part of its unique character.

This blouse was elaborated by the collective organized by Adelina, which is located in Jalapa de Diaz, Oaxaca. The group is formed by 50 persons and it was created 15 years ago.

The Adelina blouse grey with black embroidery needed around 5-6 weeks to be elaborated.

Adelina blouse grey with black embroidery

Adelina, Jalapa de Diaz, Oaxaca

Huipiles and Blusas Palmita

She belongs to a collective of about 50 people that formed 15 years ago. Between men and women they divide the work of cutting, embroidery and tailoring. Thisa is done so that in the elaboration of a garment several people collaborate. It takes approximately 2–3 months to make them, since the iconography is very extensive.

Adelina is a very kind, responsible and caring woman. She has an infinite willingness to work, always full of proposals, showing all that she and the group are capable of doing. They have been able to combine their textile art with new designs, which makes them unique. I am very pleased to be able to collaborate together.
